Broad Horizon Records, Inc. is pleased to announce that THE MIGHTY SWINE have recently finished up recording tracks for their upcoming album, Last Man Standing due out May 20, 2014.
Hot on the tails of Bassist Mike Skimmerhorn‘s other release, CHASTAIN‘s Surrender to No One (Leviathan Records) the band once again team up with Rob Nadler at Fat Track Studio in Forest Park, OH to record the 11 song disc. The first single is the title track and will feature a video by Nikk Hearn-Sutton (RUSH – Time Machine DVD).
Other tracks include; All That Is Evil, Two Graves, Tomorrow, Vengeance is Mine, and Dead Man’s Stare, for a darker, more political stance than previous releases.
It will also feature a scorching rendition of the Judas Priest classic, Hell Bent for Leather and the Bonus Track: Pool of Emptiness aka: P.O.E. which Mike demo’d for BHR 5years ago.
The Mighty Swine went on hiatus in 2013 while Mike recorded Surrender to No One, but has returned with a vengeance! After working with David T. Chastain again, Mike wanted to pursue a more progressive, guitar driven sound aimed at the purists, along with a more modern drummer than the previous releases. He enlisted Stacey Donahue and Jeff Tong on Guitar and Rory Faciane on drums for this latest release and the result has been amazing. “I couldn’t be any happier with the way this (disc) has turned out. This is the album I have always wanted to make. I truly feel that this is The Swine’s best and heaviest material since it’s inception….our first true metal album”.
Brian Basher of Hard Rock Nights says NO ONE does it better than The Mighty Swine…Loud, Sweaty, and Raw – makes you want to break things…exactly what rock n roll is supposed to be” and Kevin ‘Grape Ape’ Dean – Rock 105.1 FM – KTMC had this to say; The Mighty Swine blew me away! I’m loving their vocals – BAD ASS! – bottom line, I’m adding them to my rotation effective NOW! Thank you for allowing me to share this with my listeners”. Modern Drummer calls Rory Faciane a “drummer on the move” and we can’t wait to show the new lineup off.
Mike lives in Cincinnati, OH while Stacey and Jeff both reside in the Columbus, OH area. Rory moved from New Orleans after Katrina and currently resides in Nashville, Tn. but the band is attaining worldwide status with fans emailing in from Brazil, Russia, Costa Rica, Australia, Germany, Canada, Sweden, Finland, etc. The guys are hoping to embark on their first ever European tour this summer.
  • THE MIGHTY SWINE features Mike Skimmerhorn (CHASTAIN/CJSS) on Vocals / Bass, Stacey Donahue and Jeff Tong on Guitar, and Rory Faciane on Drums.
  • THE MIGHTY SWINE released their full length debut release in 2009 featuring the single Layin Down the Law which made HARD ROCK NIGHTS Best of 2009 Playlist
  • along with favorable reviews including Blabbermouth.net  Metal Observer.com & City Beat

  • THE MIGHTY SWINE released their single LUST / Pagan Holiday May 29, 2012 with its first professional video shot by Dave Morgan
  • The video for LUST racked up over 23,000 views on Youtube and was the Artist Pro Spotlight Artist for June 2012
  • It debuted at #1 on Roxwel.com where it stayed for 13wks on BOTH the Rock AND Metal Charts and continues to chart in the Top 10
  • THE MIGHTY SWINE was nominated for a C.E.A. (Cincinnati Entertainment Award) for Best Hard Rock act in 2012
  • and is recognized worldwide by industry and fans alike

Swedish Death / Thrash Metal band SEPTEKH will release their debut full length album entitled “Plan For World Domination” on May 2nd, 2014. It contains 13 tracks of the Swedes´ peculiar brand of Death Thrash Metal. Distribution will be handled by Abyss Records, the same label responsible for releasing the previous two SEPTEKH records.

The new album was recorded at the legendary Silence Studios (that have housed all from early 70´s prog bands to The Hellacopters and many other of Sweden’s greatest bands) and engineered and mixed by Josef Zackrisson.

The band says the album will showcase where they are today in 2014: “We are extremely proud to finally be able to share this sprawling twisted creation. This is the Plan, everything that came before were mere stepping stones. This is the full grown aural beast of Septekh”

March 24, 2014 — SEVENDUST has announced the second leg of their “An Evening With Sevendust” acoustic U.S. tour, which kicks off April 1 in Athens, GA at the Georgia Theatre.  They’re hitting the road to promote their long-awaited and highly-anticipated acoustic album, TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES, which will be released April 15 on 7Bros. Records, in conjunction with ADA Label Services.

For TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES, the Atlanta band–Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), Morgan Rose (drums/vocals), Clint Lowery (guitar/vocals), John Connolly (guitar/vocals) and Vince Hornsby (bass/vocals)—took suggestions from fans about which SEVENDUST classics they should re-record acoustically.  The final choices that made the cut are:  “Black,” “Gone,” “Denial,” “Karma,” “Trust,” and “Crucified.”

“Black” is the album’s first single, which is already getting spins on SiriusXM’s “Octane” channel, is currently available on iTunes.  Pre-orders are also available on iTunes and Amazon.

On Friday, November 22, 2013, SEVENDUST partnered with PledgeMusic for a direct-to-fan campaign to help fund the creation of TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES and was set to last a 130 days.  Over the course of that first weekend, they reached their goal thanks to their “Family” of fans who had received the exciting news solely from the band’s and band member’s personal Facebook and Twitter sites.  SEVENDUST has always said they consider their fans to be part of the SEVENDUST Family, and they certainly proved their love and devotion for the band with the immediate response to the PledgeMusic opportunity.

Even though there are still seven days left of the campaign, SEVENDUST has raised over 222% of their goal with over 3,400 pledges.  Exclusive incentives that are still available include a digital download of the album before its available anywhere, autographed T-shirts, a “Making Of” DVD, as well as autographed guitars, amps, stage backdrops and cymbals that have been used on tour.

In radio news, SEVENDUST will guest on the nationally syndicated radio show, “Rockline,” with host Bob Coburn on Monday, April 14 at 8:30pm PT/11:30pm ET.  Fans are encouraged to speak with the band that night by calling 1-800-344-ROCK (7625). For a list of stations and for information regarding how fans can hear the broadcast streaming live, go to www.RocklineRadio.com.  The show will be streamed on the Rockline website for two weeks beginning the evening after the broadcast.

It would be an understatement to say that I am upset by the latest news regarding the apparent death of GWAR frontman Dave Brockie. I’m sure that there will be people who think good riddance, and there will be others who claim to be devastated without ever actually knowing the man beneath the Oderus costume. Those who truly knew Dave are aware of what his passing truly means to the world.

GWAR are best known for their outlandish costumes and stage shows, but there is more to GWAR than most realize. The music the band performs can be considered to be nonsense or noise to many, however it goes deeper than that. If one listens to the lyrics, some of the songs truly strike a nerve in current events. Nothing would have been possible without Dave Brockie however. GWAR has been his brainchild since it’s inception.

Dave and GWAR have always been more than a band to the fans. I can recall many GWAR shows I attended where I and other fans had the opportunity to meet and talk to the band. As such, they always remembered their fans each and every time, as many of the same fans were always awaiting them.

GWAR and Dave have been a big part of my life from the time I was in Jr. High to the present. Any time that I’ve needed to laugh, I have been able to throw in a GWAR album and my mood instantly changes. Today is a day that it will not bring joy to me, but instead a flood of memories and sadness.

It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that I say R.I.P. Dave “Oderus” Brockie. You will be missed by a great many fans and friends whose lives you touched over the 30+ year career you enjoyed so much.

Melodic power metal singer / guitarist, Kathie Jarra (formerly JARRA – Lion Music) has announced that work is beginning on her new CD, tentatively titled, “Next Victim”.

This will be Jarra’s second venture out after departing from her Lion Music incarnation based out of Arizona. The singer is currently living in the Austin, TX area where she has been in a reinvention period after leaving her original band and forming her new band, STYGMATA.

Jarra has had her hands (and voice) in several side projects as well. Now coming off the successful heels of her first solo project, STYGMATA – Bleed (KRG) which charted a few metal charts in the Top 10 and Top 20 as well as spinning out a quite controversial video (from the title track, Bleed making its way around the metal television community) the singer is very excited about her new CD and performing with a new line up out of Texas.

The new members are being contracted as we speak for touring will be announced shortly. Kathie Jarra plans to be writing and focusing mainly on metal festivals in the USA and overseas.

It was an interesting record for me to do as I didn’t write anything on it, but that it was a cool record to make none the less. I’m playing all different schools of stuff on the thing guitar-wise, from GARY MOORE / JIMI HENDRIX / MICHAEL SCHENKER-induced bluesy playing to my usual YNGWIE MALMSTEEN meets RITCHIE BLACKMORE meets HANK SHERMAN / ULI JON ROTH evil shred.

First album quotes:

I am rocking my damn brains out right now to the new band and album from Exorcism and it really is a Brutal, Killer, Heavy album that has so many styles mixed in that the Metal, Prog, Doom and Rock fans are going to seriously enjoy! Pack your bags cause you are about to go on a journey from Heaven & Hell and back again. (Jon Hernandez)

This is an album full of really awesome material, with the melancholic sounds of songs like “Exorcism”, with its powerful and emotive chorus and meaty riffs blending seamlessly with more upbeat rockers like “Higher”, with its speedier feel to it and a definite driving sound. (Metal-Temple)

A first test successful for EXORCISM shot! An international group gathered for you get a foot in the ass! I AM GOD is more than a concentrate of doom and heavy metal, it is a monument simply enjoyable! An album has discover without moderation! guaranteed pleasure! (Painkiller Metal Show)

Joe Stump, Csaba Zvekan, Lucio Manca and Gary King get heavy! There’s no ballads either (thank God) but there are some lighter moments that really show off their range. My personal favorite is “Voodoo Jesus”, a song that Zvekan really brings alive, I think he’s channeling the late Ronnie James Dio at times on this one. (RAAHP)

Bottom line is that Exorcism with their debut album are going to make some noise in the metal community, no doubt ’bout that! They are the true defenders of the old school Heavy Metal scene and that’s a thing that reflects to their sound. The musicianship here is tight, the vocal performances are powerful and evil and the guitar work…..heavy as hell!!! Highly recommended stuff for all you metal-freaks out there! (Heavy Paradise)

Exorcism are:

Csaba Zvekan – vocals
Joe Stump – guitars
Lucio Manca – bass
Garry King – drums

LONDON’S HOTLY TIPPED BLUES-INFUSED GARAGE ROCKERS THE GRAVELTONES ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM & EUROPEAN TOUR

“Demonic vocals, thunderous drums and lusty live performances. What more could you ask for?” Classic Rock Magazine

“The Graveltones live are a phenomenal experience. Watching them bulldozes any presumption of a new White Stripes or Black Keys thanks to their Bonham-esque thunder drumming and cocooning vocals.” Londonist

“Here are two absolutely amazing musicians making it look so easy to be just that good… Just on the cusp of a breakthrough…  [it] is going to be a massive year for The Graveltones.” The Grapevine

Fresh off the back of landing a nomination for Best New Band of 2013 in this year’s prestigious Classic Rock Awards, London’s hotly-tipped, blues-soaked, garage rock ‘n’ rollers THE GRAVELTONES are excited to announce their highly anticipated debut album ‘Don’t Wait Down’ which is set for release on October 21 through the band’s own independent label Lagoon Dog Records, and distributed by RSK Entertainment.

Having just finished a successful UK tour with The Temperance Movement, the band are due to embark on a 14-date arena tour of Europe as main support to German country band The Bosshoss commencing on Oct 17.

With lyrics being compared to Bob Dylan, riffs to Rage Against The Machine, vocals to Howling Wolf and beats to Bonham, it’s easy to see why the dynamic duo have been stirring up such a frenzy on the London scene amongst music press and fans alike. Having amassed a dedicated following, The Graveltones’ Jimmy O (vocals/guitar) and Mikey Sorbello (drums) smashed their way through their crowd-sourced album campaign with revolutionary music platform Pledge Music in record time this summer.

The resulting debut album features 10 tracks recorded at Monnow Valley and Miloco Studios and produced by The Graveltones along with the renowned producer Charlie Francis (REM, The Noisettes, Future Of The Left).

The release of Don’t Wait Down comes at the end of what has already been a hugely successful year for The Graveltones, having released their eponymous debut EP to rave reviews with Londonist naming them #1 in the ‘Top London bands to watch in 2012’.  The band have played an impressive 350 shows across the UK, Europe and Australia, including UK tours with American rockers Rival Sons, The Temperance Movement and a performance at this year’s Download Festival.  They also landed sync deals with the Irish Lottery and cosmetic giants Rimmel who took advantage of their phenomenal studio sound using the band’s first single ‘I Want Your Love’ to front their national TV advertising campaign against the face of Kate Moss.

The band’s recent nomination for this year’s Classic Rock Awards in the Best New Band 2013 category is the latest in a long line of achievements that the remarkable pair have already conquered before the world has even heard their full debut album, and sets them firmly amongst some of this year’s most incendiary buzz bands including The Temperance Movement, Deap Vally, Walking Papers and Hey! Hello to name a few.

Vocalist/guitarist Jimmy O comments: “We never expected this, it’s a real honour to be nominated for the Classic Rock Awards – Best New Band, to be amongst so many great bands means a lot!”

The band are set to play a top secret exclusive launch gig in London on September 17 for Pledgers and industry, with a limited number of tickets being made available for the public to win. See the band’s facebook page for details.

‘Don’t Wait Down’ is set for worldwide release on October 21 via Lagoon Dog Records distributed by RSK Entertainment.

September 9, 2013 – Eclipse Records is thrilled to announce the signing of OUR LAST ENEMY from Sydney, Australia which features former Genitorturers & The Undead member Bryce “Bizz” Bernius on guitar.

OUR LAST ENEMY caught the eye of Eclipse when they released their EP last year, and it climbed to the number two position on the Australian iTunes metal chart, second only to Meshuggah, released on the same day. “When I first heard Our Last Enemy, they immediately commanded my attention” states label president Chris Poland. “Their sound is just so damn heavy – like a ton of lead being balanced on your head!”

“Of all the labels we had been speaking with, Chris and the team at Eclipse seemed to really understand what the band is trying to do and how to take us there” says vocalist Oliver Fogwell. Bassist Matt Heywood continues, “signing with Eclipse makes us extremely happy because they’ve been responsible for launching some of our favorite bands. It’s a very exciting time for us”.

The band recently wrapped up production of their brand new full length album entitled Pariah, which is planned for release in early 2014 by Eclipse Records (Mushroomhead, Bobaflex, Scum of the Earth). The album was recorded at the famed Temple Studios (Los Angeles, CA) and was produced by Christian Olde Wolbers (ex-Fear Factory) whose production credits also include Bleed the Sky, Godforbid, and Mnemic.

OUR LAST ENEMY is:
Oliver Fogwell (vocals), Matt Heywood (bass/vocals), Jeff Ritchie (keys/samples), Bryce ‘Bizz’ Bernius (guitar) and Zot Cillia (drums)
