May 7, 2013 – Los Angeles, Califonia – Synthetic-Metal duo Chiildren have released yet another highly disturbing music video for their song “My Gods.” This is the second music video from their “The Other PeopleEP. The band first penetrated the public consciousness with a harrowing yet captivating music video for their single, “Girl In The Dirt.”

“‘My Gods’ is an agnostic prayer as heard by a demon named Elim, otherwise known as the ‘lord of attrition.’ The video depicts his relationship to three characters and their subsequent deterioration of mind, body, and soul.

We filmed much of the video completely guerilla style in an abandoned house in the San Fernando Valley. A passing hiker spotted us and called 911 to report a possible rape/murder. So halfway through our first day, we were approached by three policemen with guns drawn. The sheriff quickly realized what we were doing and then explained that his children were filmmakers. Amazingly, he allowed us to keep shooting as long as we remained unseen by the public.

In order to continue our good luck, we modified the demonic sigil that we planned to paint on our apartment floor in order to not summon an actual demon.” – Chris Zeischegg / Chiildren

The Other People” EP is available now through Bit Riot Records on all mainstream digital platforms such as iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, Rhapsody as well as niche digital stores including FiXT Store, Bandcamp and DDT Digital.

About Chiildren:

Formed by Chris Zeischegg and Chad Fjerstad out of Los Angeles, California, Chiildren fuses the automation of modern electronica with post-industrial drone, while taking inspiration from grim black metal, splatter-punk fiction, and minimal film scores.

Canadian hard rockers FAMOUS UNDERGROUND – the new project of Nick Walsh, formerly frontman of SLIK TOXIK, together with his long-time bassist/musical partner Laurie-Anne Green at his side – recently inked a world-wide two album deal with German label Dust On The Tracks Records(DOTT).

The group’s self-titled debut album, which is slated for release on June 7th, will be released through Sony (Europe), MVD (USA), RSK (UK) and Universal (Canada).

Tracklisting:

1. Wasteland
2. Overdrive
3. Dead Weight
4. Love Stands Still
5. Forever And A Day
6. Necropolis
7. Wheel Of Misfortune
8. Mommy Is A Junkie
9. On Broken Wings
10. Bullet Train
11. Hell To Pay

Bonus tracks:

12. Dead Weight (raw and unplugged)
13. On Broken Wings (alternative)

The CD comes in a digi including an eight-page-booklet.

Frontman Nicholas Walsh recently checked in with the following update: “Just letting you all know that we’ve been prepping for our official debut release. We have done a photo shoot with renowned photographer Darko and have been finishing up the artwork as well as the mixes on our bonus tracks. Though we have been in the studio tracking some ‘new, new’ songs, those will only see the light of day for our upcoming live performances, and will not be a part of our debut release. They will be reserved for F.U. #2. Thanks goes out to all of our Canadian fans for all of your support since the beginning. It’s time to share your homeboys and girl with the rest of the world.

The Famous Underground line-up is:

Nicholas Walsh – vocals/guitars
Laurie-Anne Green – bass/vocals
Rick Corvese – guitars
Darren Boyd – guitars
Desche Sparboom – drums

According to a press release, Famous Underground’s sound and music is edgy, melodic and hooky bringing a paradigm shift to the arena of rock. It’s been said, that they have created something fresh and exciting in an otherwise stagnated genre. With the conclusion that no-one has definitive comparisons, Carl Begai writer with elite hard rock/metal magazine BW&BK describes the new recording as “it’s a darker if-METALLICA-were-GUNS N’ ROSES direction with this brand new album.

Famous Underground’s self-titled studio release produced by Nick Walsh, and mixed by Darius Szczepaniak (THE BLACK CROWES, SACRIFICE) at Rouge Valley Studio in Toronto. The new recording takes Walsh’s writing to a more defined state where the lyrics delve more into the complexities of the real world.

These musicians have independently garnered critical acclaim supporting such acts as MÖTLEY CRÜE, DEF LEPPARD, KID ROCK, BLACK SABBATH, BILLY TALENT, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, APRIL WINE and many other international acts.

The vocals, the drums, the guitars, the recording quality, the song structure, the variety… We couldn’t be happier or more confident with a sophomore album. It almost feels like we skipped a release between the two albums! There is not a doubt in my mind that this will be a game changer for us and will open many doors to opportunities otherwise closed off from us.”

The band has recently been featured in Hails And Horns Magazine and Outburn Magazine and more, and recently appeared AS A CARTOON (yes, a cartoon) in a new interview with South Africa’s MK Ondergrond! The interview appeared on national SA television but can be seen on YouTube along with recent interviews with In Flames and The Used.  Singer Dennis Tvrdik talks about their hometown of Cleveland, the metal and hardcore scenes, touring, music videos, and more.

Baroness’s first North American tour supporting their critically-acclaimed album,Yellow & Green, kicks off May 24 with a performance at Union Transfer in John Baizley‘s adopted hometown of Philadelphia.
“It’s hard to find the words to express how excited we are to announce this tour,” explained guitar player Pete Adams. “Seven months ago, who knew when it would be or even if we could get back on the road.  But here we are, picking right back up where we left off.  A heartfelt thanks to everyone’s unconditional love and support for us through, let’s hope, the hardest time this band will ever see.  We told you we’d be back so let’s do this thing!”
Baizley confirmed that drummer Allen Blickle and bass player Matt Maggioni would not be touring with the band via a web posting on Mar. 25 (http://baronessmusic.com/update-3/), adding that the pair’s departure is “not sensational” and “do[es] not come with hard feelings.”  Baizley went on to add that the band has already found two musicians, Nick Jost (bass) and Sebastian Thomson (drums),  “who can approach our music with passion and vitality.”

In honor of its release today, Revolver Magazine is hosting a stream of Toxic Holocaust’s ‘From The Ashes Of Nuclear Destruction’ in its entirety! The monolithic 22-track anthology compiles over a decade’s worth of Toxic Holocaust rarities into one maniacal compilation of hostile bliss. Amassing the band’s many contributions to various comps and vinyl-only splits with the likes of Municipal Waste, Midnight and others, alongside demo versions of timeless Toxic classics, ‘From The Ashes Of Nuclear Destruction’ is a historic romp through the history of one of today’s most revered punk metal deviants.
Said Stereokiller of the offering, “If I was a diehard thrash fan, I’d have this album framed on my wall, another copy spinning on the record player, and a third copy in my arms, while I’m clutching it close and waiting for the inevitable apocalypse that Toxic Holocaust is preaching so fiercely.” Adds Metal Temple, “This historic look at the many facets of the band is the perfect introduction for those not initiated with Toxic Holocaust yet. There is example after example … that shows why Toxic Holocaust is the clear leader of the modern day thrash movement. They capture the essence, attitude and vibe of the legendary bands that created one of the most important genres of metal.”
