“Grooves, Grooves, Grooves.” – Metal Hammer, 5/7

“‘Post Mortem Nihil Est’ is massive, epic and simply amazing.” – H-T-M, 10/10

“Songs like the perky ‘I, Reptile’, the majestic ‘Yes, We Die’ or the athmospheric ‘Nevada’ clearly show that the band is as diverse as melodic. The band will definitely catch the attention from fans from acts like In Flames, Fear Factory and Paradise Lost.” Legacy Mag

The artistic output of DAGOBA stands as a testament to the power found within the combination of brutal riffage, mind-bending symphonic atmosphere and dark electro grooves. “Post Mortem Nihil Est” is a shining jewel amidst the dustbin of modern music, offering a furiously creative and persistently dynamic display of nuanced, diverse and challenging material. There’s the stomach-punching rawness of true heavy metal and circle-pit inciting bottom end in the Dagoba sound, all of it beautifully balanced by classical elements and the throb and grind of industrial.

Dagoba has shared the stage with such genre giants as Metallica, Korn, Sepultura, Machine Head and Fear Factory, while dominating festival bills and club shows internationally. Built upon a foundation of stop-start Pantera type rhythms and Dimmu Borgir style ambience, Dagoba delve deep into the mines of black, death and modern metal and emerge with the most dazzling elements of each subgenre. Fans of Metallica, Morbid Angel and Cradle Of Filth can all connect to the Dagoba sound.

It’s a sound that could only have been born and bred in the South of France, with isolation breeding intense creativity and a unique stylistic point of view. The revolutionary spirit of Marseille is infused in Dagoba’s music and attitude. Rock Sound magazine declared: “Dagoba crushes everything and leaves no one alive!” And this was 10 years ago upon the release of the band’s first album!

The Dagoba story is one of perseverance, creative vision and passion. Perennial outsiders, the band forged an identity uniquely their own thanks to the environment that gave birth to them. “Marseille is just like Texas in the US,” lead singer Shawter reasons. “We’re very different from the rest of the population. We have strong accents, which make us difficult to understand. We have strong character. We love to work hard. We have to. “ At the end of the day, Dagoba are capable of evocative and primal communication. As Shawter rightly points out: “Music is an international language.”

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY
TO RELEASE UNBLACKENED

ON DVD, BLU-RAY, AND DIGITAL VIDEO VIA EAGLE ROCK ENTERTAINMENT

CD DOUBLE DISC VIA ENTERTAINMENT ONE

~September 24, 2013~

(New York, NY) — “Unblackened,” the new live DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital Video from Black Label Society will be released on September 24, 2013 by Eagle Rock Entertainment. [Pre-book Order Date September 9, MSRP $19.98 Blu-ray, $14.98 DVD].

Additionally, Zakk’s label home, eOne Music, will release the audio version of the “Unblackened” DVD under the same name. The double disc release will have six additional tracks not found on the DVD, including two acoustic versions of “Queen Of Sorrow” and “Won’t Find It Here,” and covers of Leon Russell’s “Song For You” and “Aint No Sunshine When She’s Gone” by Bill Withers.

Since their early nineties inception, Black Label Society, formed and helmed by guitar legend Zakk Wylde, has been at the forefront of hard rock. Their penchant for hard riffs and blazing solos has resulted in a slew of hugely successful albums and a reputation as one of the most powerful live bands of their generation. Unblackened,” however, unveils another side of the band.

Filmed and recorded earlier this year in high definition at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia, “Unblackened” is Black Label Society presenting their songs in a whole new light, with greater use of acoustic instrumentation. Wylde plays both guitar and piano, with Nick Catanase on guitar, John DeServio on bass/vocals, Chad Szeliga on drums, Derek Sherinian on keyboards/piano, and Greg Locascio providing additional vocals.

Their stripped-down approach highlights the subtler nuances of the songwriting, without losing any of the fire or intensity. Classic tracks like “Stillborn,” “The Blessed Hellride,” “In This River,” “Throwin’ It All Away,” “Losin’ Your Mind,” and many others are still punctuated by the stinging, searing solos that fans know and love, while showcasing the versatility of the band.

In addition to the concert, “Unblackened” is rich in bonus material. A new interview with Zakk, photo gallery, music video for “Losin’ Your Mind,” and a feature with Wylde visiting HM Prison Stocken in the U.K . are all included.

Zakk Wylde, who has been called one of the true guitar heroes of the past 20-plus years, served as Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist for over 20 years in addition to his work with BLS. This collaboration led to a string of multi-platinum albums, including Osbourne’s biggest selling “No More Tears,” of which Wylde wrote all the music. Bestowed with such accolades as “Golden God” by Metal Hammer and the “Best Guitarist” Award from Revolver Magazine, Wylde has proven time and time again that his songwriting, guitar prowess, and on-stage persona, along with his larger-than-life personality, have made him a force to be reckoned with. Black Label Society continues to enthrall fans around the globe, and “Unblackened” is another incredible piece in the band’s catalog.

This is the first batch of new material we’ve seen from GOTK since the release of “The Summoning,” which came out in 2011. Frontman Davey Richmond weighs in with a comment on what fans can expect from “SAVAGES“:

“This is a very exciting time for us as we can finally expose the finished product of something that has been over two years in the making. With this new album we feel like we have finally found our sound. We decided to take everything we do best to the next level with this album and really tested our abilities both in playing and songwriting. It’s now time to unleash a new chapter of Glamour Of The Kill upon the world!”

GLAMOUR OF THE KILL released “The Summoning” in 2011 to much critical praise. Kerrang! Magazine says, “Glamour Of The Kill are one of the UK’s brightest young hopes.” and “The UK has a new crossover phenomenon in the making,” praises Metal Hammer. The UK press hails Glamour Of The Kill as “set to hit the big time” and the rest of the world is about to get in on the action.

The band now have their sights set on the world beyond their native England, with the strength of their homeland fan base securely supporting them. British invasions from the Beatles to Oasis to Maiden have come in waves and GOTK are ready to seize their opportunity. “We started a band because this is what we love to do,” Davey concludes. “You get to do what you love and have thousands of other people enjoy it with you. I couldn’t ask for anything more. As long as we love what we are doing, we are going to take it as far as we can.”

GLAMOUR OF THE KILL is: Chris Gomerson (guitars, backing vocals), Mike Kingswood (guitars, backing vocals), Davey Richmond (lead vocals, bass) and Ben Thomson (drums, backing vocals).

“With the markedly improved musicianship and songwriting found on FULL OF WAR, the band should be headlining their own treks in the near future.”     Alternative Press Magazine

Producers Brandon Paddock and Taylor Larsen (PERIPHERY), who’ve done various production and engineering work with THE USED, PAPA ROACH and BLACK VEIL BRIDES, among others have helped CONDITIONS craft an album that is leaps and bounds beyond their already impressive debut, Fluorescent Youth. “We wholeheartedly believed in our last record,” insists Roundtree. “But then after we lived with it, we realized it was maybe a little ‘safe’ for us. We took that very much to heart and decided to showcase the fact that we are not a play-it-safe band.”

CONDITIONS is: Brandon Roundtree (Vocals), Alex Howard (Guitar & Vocals), Ryan Tinsley (Drums), Corey Thomas (Bass)

Southern California heavy music giants THROWDOWN will be entering the studio next week to begin working on their next full length record, with ZEUSS mixing.

The new, yet to be titled effort is the follow up to “Deathless,” which came out four years ago, in 2009 highlighted with tracks “This Continuum,” “Burial at Sea” and The Scythe.”

Vocalist Dave Peters offers a statement on the current state of the band and the mindset behind making this next record:

“It’s really exciting, if not a little nerve-wracking to be recording again. It has been almost 4 years since ‘Deathless’ came out, which is about twice as long as the time between albums before it.  While that has probably been annoying for fans that have been waiting and expecting a new record, it has also been the best thing for the writing process for the new album.

I’m really meticulous when writing and arranging even the simplest riffs and songs, so I like to take my time. It has been strange and nice having the freedom to come back to a song or part several weeks later with a different perspective after hitting a wall with it.

We’re taking a very minimalist approach with these songs, more like Vendetta and (the first half of) Haymaker.  I avoid putting the cart before the horse, but I see the songs on the record coming out stripped down and yet still refined.  A two-minute song can arrive at the same place as one that fucks around for six, and while it’s more challenging to get there in less time, it is a lot cooler when you do.  I’ve been going back to that when I find myself maybe adding parts or lines that are at risk of being superfluous.

I’m very proud of ‘Deathless’ and all the work that went into it, but it wasn’t a record that Throwdown fans expected.  It was really polarizing on account of that.  I’m simply not looking to continue down that stylistic road with these songs. This is going to be a hard record. I look forward to making it as much for myself as for longtime fans of the band.”

Britain’s bad boys GLAMOUR OF THE KILL will be making their way over to the U.S. this spring to tour with ESCAPE THE FATE. Vocalist and front man Davey Richmond has something to say about it. We’re really pumped to be hitting the U.S. again! Touring is what we live for so to be traveling the world doing what we love is an opportunity we relish.”

The band also just wrapped up the finishing touches on their new album that will be released this summer. The yet to be titled full length was produced by Joey Sturgis (ASKING ALEXANDRIA, MISS MAY I) and will undoubtably be the band’s most hard-hitting material to date. Richmond continues, “Having just finished our second album with producer Joey we feel like caged animals ready to bring the party back to the U.S. again.”
